Alamo Square, San Francisco

Alamo Square is a public park and residential neighborhood in San Francisco best known for the row of painted Victorian houses facing the park. The area combines a small urban park with late 19th-century residential architecture.

The park offers sloping lawns, a playground and formal viewpoints that frame a row of seven Victorian houses commonly called the “Painted Ladies” with the downtown skyline behind them. The combination of the houses and the skyline makes the site a frequent subject for photographers and visitors.
