Al Janoub Stadium is a football stadium in the coastal city of Al Wakrah, Qatar, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and completed for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The stadium’s roof and exterior form are inspired by traditional dhow sails and maritime heritage.
It hosted World Cup matches in 2022 and was built as a modern, air-cooled facility with integrated spectator amenities and a waterfront setting. The stadium was delivered around 2019 and featured a tournament capacity of around 40,000 spectators, with post-tournament plans to reduce seating and adapt part of the venue for community use.
