Aitana is a mountain massif in the Valencian Community of Spain and the highest summit in the province of Alicante, reaching about 1,558 metres. It is part of the broader Prebaetic mountain system.
The area is used for outdoor recreation with day hikes to the summit and routes that offer panoramic views across the interior and toward the Mediterranean coast. Snow can occur on the peak in winter months and the summit area contains telecommunications installations and clear viewing points.
Geologically it belongs to the Prebaetic ranges formed by uplifted limestone. Over the 20th and 21st centuries the summit has acquired modern communications infrastructure while the lower slopes remain used for grazing and recreational access.
The massif sits inland within Alicante province in the Valencian Community of eastern Spain, occupying a prominent position in the local skyline and visible from many towns on the Costa Blanca.

How to Get to Aitana (mountain) #
Access from the towns of Alcoy or Benifato via local roads (CV‑700 and CV‑770 approaches); public buses are limited so a car is the easiest option. Follow mountain road signs toward Puerto de Tudons and trailheads from there.
