Puig Campana is a limestone mountain in the Valencian Community near the towns of Finestrat and Benidorm, notable for its steep faces and a prominent notch on the western side.

Hikers and climbers come for the summit, which rises to roughly 1,410 metres, and for the panoramic views over the Mediterranean and the Alicante coastline. The mountain is accessed from several trailheads around Finestrat and Altea and is a common single-day hiking objective from the nearby coastal resorts.

Geographically it stands just inland from Benidorm, forming a conspicuous backdrop to the coastal towns and forming part of the pre-coastal range of the Marina Baixa.

• Elevation: The mountain reaches about 1,410 metres in elevation and is a popular destination for day hikes and technical climbing routes on limestone terrain.

What to See#

• Summit: Summit at approximately 1,410 metres above sea level offering panoramic views over the Alicante coast and the Mediterranean on clear days.
• Western notch: Distinctive western face notch, a well-known visual feature visible from Benidorm and surrounding towns and used as a landmark for routes from Finestrat and Altea.

Access the Puig Campana approaches from the AP-7 motorway; exits toward Finestrat or Altea. The town of Finestrat serves as a common base - from there follow signs to the mountain; parking is available near trailheads. The nearest large airport is Alicante-Elche (about 40-50 minutes by car).

• Start the popular 'Cachopo' route early morning to avoid heat and to see the notch in the summit in flattering light.
• Hire a certified local guide for the tougher north face routes; several via ferrata-style sections are exposed and require experience.
• If driving from Alicante airport, skirt the AP-7 and take local roads for better coastal views; parking is limited at trailheads.
