How to Get to Agat Village#
Agat (Hågat) on Guam is reached via A.B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) with a short taxi or bus ride to the village. Public buses serve the island but taxis are the fastest and most convenient option for visitors.
A.B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM): Guam’s main international airport in Tamuning/Ordot is the gateway for Agat (Hågat). A taxi from GUM to Hågat takes about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic; fares are typically around $20-35. There is also limited public bus service from the airport to southern Tumon/Hågat areas; the bus takes longer and is used mainly by locals.
Train: There is no train service on Guam.
Bus: Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) operates public bus services on the island; routes connect Tamuning, Hagat and other population centres. Buses are inexpensive (typical fares around $2) but slower and less frequent than taxis, so allow extra time for travel across the island.
How to Get Around Agat Village#
Agat is best reached by taxi from GUM for speed and convenience; GRTA buses provide a budget alternative. Rent a car if you want to explore the island beyond the village.
- Taxi ($20-40) - Taxis are the most practical way to get from GUM to Agat (Hågat) and for island exploration-fast, direct and widely available at the airport. Agree a fare or ensure the meter is used for longer trips; drivers know the main hotels and landmarks.
- Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) buses ($2 single) - The GRTA network provides low-cost transport across Guam and serves Agat via several routes. Buses are useful for local travel but have limited schedules compared with taxis-check current route maps and times before planning.
- Car hire ($35-80/day) - Hiring a car is convenient for independent travel around Guam, giving access to beaches and inland sites. Roads are generally good, parking is plentiful at most attractions, and driving uses US-style rules (right-hand).
- Motorbike / scooter ($20-40/day) - Scooter rental is an option for shorter trips along the coast and in good weather, but be cautious on busier roads and in rainy conditions. Insurance and helmet rules vary-confirm conditions before renting.
- Walking - Agat village is compact and walkable for local sightseeing and beachfront promenades. For longer distances between beaches and lookouts, expect to use a car or taxi.

Hyatt Regency Guam (Tumon) - Reliable mid-range beachfront option.
Dusit Thani Guam Resort (Tumon) - Comfortable facilities near beaches.
Tumon Bay - $220+/night

Souvenir and specialty shopping is concentrated in the more touristy parts of Guam rather than in Agat.
Nightlife in Agat Village#
