How to Get to Agat Village

Agat (Hågat) on Guam is reached via A.B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) with a short taxi or bus ride to the village. Public buses serve the island but taxis are the fastest and most convenient option for visitors.

By Air

A.B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM): Guam’s main international airport in Tamuning/Ordot is the gateway for Agat (Hågat). A taxi from GUM to Hågat takes about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic; fares are typically around $20-35. There is also limited public bus service from the airport to southern Tumon/Hågat areas; the bus takes longer and is used mainly by locals.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no train service on Guam.

Bus: Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) operates public bus services on the island; routes connect Tamuning, Hagat and other population centres. Buses are inexpensive (typical fares around $2) but slower and less frequent than taxis, so allow extra time for travel across the island.

How to Get Around Agat Village #

Hågat (Agat) is best navigated by car; streets are walkable within the village but Guam is spread out and distances to attractions can be significant. Guam has limited public bus service (CRT) and taxis; rideshares are available but less widespread than in larger cities. Car rental is the most practical option for visiting multiple sites; expect taxi fares to be higher than local bus fares for longer trips.

Agat/Hågat has a few simple guesthouses and motels; many travellers choose economy stays elsewhere on Guam for more services.
Mid-Range
Tumon Bay (nearby) - $130-220/night
Mid-range resorts concentrate in Tumon Bay, a 20-30 minute drive; Agat itself has more modest options than the resort strip.
Luxury

Luxury resorts are clustered in Tumon Bay rather than Agat; choose these for beach access, dining and full-service spas.

Where to Eat in Agat Village #

Nightlife in Agat Village #

Nightlife in Agat is limited. Evenings are quiet with a few local bars and community gatherings; if you want restaurants, live music or a bar scene, you’ll need to go to Tumon or other tourist hubs on the island. Local cultural events and village fiestas are the main after-dark social activities.

Shopping in Agat Village #

Shopping in Agat is basic and geared toward residents: small grocery stores, convenience shops and a few local vendors. For larger stores, malls and a broader choice of restaurants and shops, head toward Hagåtña or the Tumon area.
