Adams National Historical Park

Adams National Historical Park preserves the homes, papers and museum collections of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams and their family in Quincy, Massachusetts. The site includes multiple buildings on the family estate and is managed by the U.S. National Park Service.

Visitors can see the preserved birthplaces of John Adams and John Quincy Adams, the family residence known as Peacefield (the Old House), and the Stone Library that houses family papers and books. The park offers guided tours of the historic houses, period rooms and exhibits interpreting the Adams family’s political and personal history.

The property contains houses and collections accumulated by the Adams family across the 18th and 19th centuries; the Stone Library and Peacefield were central to the family’s post-presidential life. The site was brought into federal protection to preserve the physical legacy and documentary records of the Adams family.

The park is located in Quincy, Massachusetts, south of Boston and is reachable by local roads and public transit from the Greater Boston area.
