Acanceh is a Maya archaeological site and modern town in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, noted for a restored pyramid and palace complex with stucco decoration and an onsite museum.
The site features a prominent stepped pyramid with stucco masks and a palace structure fronting a plaza; several buildings have undergone partial restoration and are visible from walkways. An onsite museum displays ceramics and artifacts recovered during excavations.
Acanceh was occupied in the pre-Columbian era and shows architectural and ceramic evidence typical of Classic-period Maya settlements; parts of the site were excavated and restored during 20th-century archaeological work.
The archaeological zone and town lie in central Yucatán, a short drive southeast of Mérida and accessible from the Mérida-Tizimín road.
