Abuko is a short road transfer from Banjul International Airport and major towns like Serrekunda. Shared taxis, minibuses and private taxis are the standard ways to arrive and get around locally.

By Air

Banjul International Airport (BJL): Banjul is the main international airport serving The Gambia and the West Coast; it is the nearest airport for Abuko. From Banjul you can take a taxi or arrange an airport transfer to Abuko - travel time is about 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and exact route.

Other regional airports: There are no closer international airports serving Abuko; Banjul remains the practical arrival point for international travellers.

By Train & Bus

Train: The Gambia does not have a passenger rail network; rail is not an option.

Bus / Minibus / Shared taxi: Abuko is well connected by road with regular shared taxis, minibuses and local buses from Banjul, Serrekunda and other towns. Services run frequently and travel times are short (typically 20-40 minutes from Banjul/Serrekunda).

Abuko is a small Gambian village where the centre is easy to walk around, especially near the nature reserve.
