Maluay Travel Guide

Maluay faces Apo Island in southeastern Negros, a region in the central Visayas of stunning beaches and some of the best diving in the whole of the Philippines.

Maluay is well set up for tourists as it has many high quality resorts that overlook the beach and are well within reach of nearby Malatapay. Thalatta Beach Resort is one such resort which faces Apo Island and is a good spot for the whole family. Many of these resorts also have landscaped gardens next to the beach.

If you are into diving, several of the resorts can organize dives and dive courses into some of the most delectable reefs in the region. Apo Island itself is a short ferry ride away and has numerous marine sanctuaries to dive in where fishing and boating have been banned. Dumaguete City, capital of the southern province, is also worth checking out and spending some time in.

Getting There & Away

Maluay is around 20 minutes by road from Dumaguete, which has a small airport. Dumaguete City Airport receives flights with Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines from Manila in about an hour, while ferries come in from Cebu City via Bohol. Some Maluay resorts do pick ups at Dumaguete City Airport.
