Zuiderduintjes Island

Zuiderduintjes is a small, uninhabited dune island in the Dutch Wadden Sea off the province of Groningen. It is a tidal sand and dune formation used primarily by nesting shorebirds and seals.

There are no visitor facilities and access is restricted to protect breeding birds and fragile habitats; visits are generally limited to licensed research or guided conservation trips. The island is subject to tidal changes and is submerged at high tide in parts.

As a minor island within the Wadden Sea, it is managed under national and international nature protection frameworks aimed at preserving intertidal ecosystems and migratory bird habitats.

Zuiderduintjes lies within the Wadden Sea north of the Dutch mainland at approximately 53.52°N, 6.59°E and is reachable only by boat from mainland harbours under controlled conditions.
