The Zegrze Reservoir (Jezioro Zegrzyńskie) is a man-made lake in Masovian Voivodeship, Poland, formed on the Narew River near the village of Zegrze. It is a prominent recreational water body for the Warsaw metropolitan area.
The reservoir offers beaches, marinas, and facilities for sailing, windsurfing, and motorboating; several clubs and rental operators serve water-sport visitors. Regular commuter trains and buses run to Legionowo; from there local buses and taxis serve the reservoir towns. Cycling paths link parts of the western shore to Warsaw suburbs for adventurous riders.
Tips for Visiting Zegrze Reservoir #
- On warm weekends the western beaches fill; head for the northeastern shore near Dębe and Nieporęt for quieter coves.
- Take a small ferry or rent a motorboat to see the reservoir from the water-the scale reads differently from a boat than from the shore.
