Typical bus times: Neuquén-Zapala ~4-6 hours; Buenos Aires-Zapala is an overnight trip (often ~14-16 hours); fares vary by company and service class - for regional routes expect ARS prices that depend on season and operator (book via major companies at terminals or online).
How to Get Around Zapala #
Zapala is a small Patagonian town where the central district is easy to explore on foot. Main services-shops, cafés and the bus terminal-are concentrated downtown, so walking covers most needs. For trips outside town expect local taxis and regional buses; private cars are handy for exploring the surrounding steppe and access roads. Distances can be long and public transport schedules infrequent, so plan onward connections in advance.
