The Young Mao Zedong statue is a large bronze sculpture of Mao Zedong as a young man situated on Orange Isle (Juzizhou) in Changsha, Hunan. It is a landmark-sized public monument and a popular photo site along the Xiang River.

The sculpture depicts Mao in his youth and serves as a focal point on the island promenade; the island itself offers riverside parks and walkways extending several hundred metres along the Xiang. The immediate area is accessible on foot from Changsha city centre and is commonly visited by local tourists and school groups.

The statue was commissioned and installed in the 21st century as a commemorative public artwork; it functions as both a cultural symbol and a landscaped viewing spot rather than a religious or historic tomb. The site is maintained as part of city riverfront development.

Orange Isle sits in the Xiang River within urban Changsha, a short drive or metro ride from the city centre; the island is connected to the mainland by bridges and is surrounded by river promenades and parks.

From Changsha (the nearest major city) there are direct long-distance buses from Changsha bus stations to Shaoshan (journey roughly 1.5-2 hours), and regional trains also serve the Shaoshan area (arrive at the local station and take a short taxi or local bus). Once in Shaoshan the statue and museum complex are served by local shuttle buses or a short taxi ride and then a short walk to the site.

• Buy a combined ticket for the Shaoshan complex where available so you can see the Young Mao statue together with the former residence and museum without repeated queueing at separate gates.
• Use the regular shuttle buses or local buses from Shaoshan town (or a short taxi from the nearest rail/bus stations) to the visitor complex rather than trying to reach the site on foot from distant parking areas.
