How to Get to Yokohama Marine Tower #

Yokohama Marine Tower stands in Yamashita Park in Naka Ward, close to the waterfront. The easiest rail access is Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minatomirai Line (and also served by the nearby JR Negishi Line at Ishikawachō); from Motomachi-Chukagai it’s about a 7-10 minute walk through Yamashita Park to the tower. By car it’s roughly 30-40 km from central Tokyo depending on route and traffic (about under an hour in normal conditions).

Tips for Visiting Yokohama Marine Tower #

  • Visit Yokohama Marine Tower at sunset to watch daylight fade and see the city and Bay Bridge light up - the observation deck is particularly striking at dusk and after dark.
  • Access the tower from Yamashita Park or Motomachi‑Chukagai Station (Minatomirai line) to combine the visit with a stroll through the park and nearby Chinatown rather than approaching through busier tourist routes.
  • Check the tower's opening hours before you go; many visitors expect 24/7 access but the observation deck has set hours and occasional closures for events or maintenance.
