Yıldız Palace is a late-Ottoman imperial palace complex on the European shore of the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey, developed and expanded in the 19th century. It became the principal residence and administrative centre for Sultan Abdülhamid II in the late 1800s.
The ensemble includes a number of small pavilions, ornate reception halls and large landscaped gardens now known as Yıldız Park. Several buildings were adapted for official functions and private residence, and parts of the complex are preserved as museum spaces.
The palace occupies a wooded ridge in the Beşiktaş district, overlooking the Bosphorus on Istanbul’s European side, and sits between the neighbourhoods of Beşiktaş and Ortaköy within the city’s historical core.
