From the airport you can take an airport shuttle or intercity coach toward Jining/Qufu (typical shuttle fare about ¥20-40; journey roughly 30-60 minutes depending on route and traffic). Taxis and ride‑hail (DiDi) are available outside arrivals - expect around ¥100-200 and roughly 30-60 minutes to reach central Yanzhou.
Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport (TNA): Jinan’s airport is the main provincial gateway if you find better flight options. From TNA you can take an airport bus or taxi to Jinan Railway Station then onward by train to Yanzhou; airport bus/taxi to the city centre is typically ¥30-¥120 and takes about 40-60 minutes to Jinan, then add rail travel time (see train section). Direct long‑distance coach options also run between Jinan and Jining/Yanzhou (see bus paragraph below).
Train: Yanzhou is served by Yanzhou Railway Station (兖州站) on regional rail corridors; nearby major stations include Jining Railway Station (济宁站) and Qufu East (曲阜东) on the high‑speed network. Regional and high‑speed services connect Yanzhou with Jinan, Jining, Qufu and larger hubs - typical fares for regional/fast trains are in the order of ¥15-¥60 and journey times to Jinan or nearby cities are commonly 30-90 minutes depending on service.
Bus: Intercity and long‑distance coaches run from Jining Bus Stations and from Jinan coach terminals to Yanzhou. Short intercity bus trips are inexpensive (roughly ¥10-¥40) and take between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on origin and traffic. How to Get Around Yanzhou, Jining
Yanzhou is easiest to navigate by a combination of short regional trains, intercity buses and taxis/DiDi for last‑mile travel. For visitors, trains and buses are the most reliable for getting to and from other cities, while taxis and bike‑share work best for local movement.
- Train (Yanzhou Railway Station) (¥15-¥60) - Yanzhou Railway Station (兖州站) handles regional and some faster services linking Yanzhou with Jinan, Jining and Qufu. Trains are usually punctual and the most comfortable way to cover medium distances; book tickets in advance for peak travel periods and check whether the service is conventional or CRH high‑speed when planning time.
- Intercity Bus (¥10-¥40) - Coaches connect Yanzhou with Jining, Jinan and surrounding towns from main bus terminals. Buses are frequent for short hops and are budget‑friendly; allow extra time in rush hours as roads can get congested. Tickets are sold at terminal counters and sometimes on board for short rides.
- Taxi (¥8-¥150) - Taxis are convenient for door‑to‑door travel inside Yanzhou and to nearby towns. Expect a typical flag fare around ¥8-¥12 for the first few kilometres and then a per‑kilometre rate; short inner‑town trips are inexpensive but longer transfers to airports or other cities can add up. Use a meter or a reputable app to avoid misunderstandings.
- DiDi / Ride‑hail (¥10-¥200) - DiDi is widely used in the region and often cheaper or more convenient than a street taxi for certain trips, especially late at night or when language is a barrier. App fares fluctuate with demand; you can also book taxis through DiDi for fixed‑price rides.
- Bicycles & Shared E‑bikes (¥0.5-¥2 per 30 min) - Dockless bike and e‑bike services operate in Yanzhou and are practical for short trips around town. They're cheap and flexible - typically pay by the minute through the provider app. Helmets aren't always provided, so ride cautiously on busy streets.
- Walking - Yanzhou's central areas are compact enough for walking; many sights, markets and restaurants are clustered near the old town and station area. Walking is often the fastest way to explore neighbourhood streets and avoids traffic hassles.
