How to Get to Xintai

Xintai (新泰) is best reached via the nearby regional rail network or by road from Jinan or Qingdao airports. Jinan Yaoqiang (TNA) is the closest major airport; Tai'an and Xintai railway stations handle most rail arrivals. Plan transfers via Tai'an for the most frequent services.

By Air

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport (TNA): Jinan is the closest major airport for Xintai. From the airport you can take the airport shuttle to Jinan city (around ¥20-30, 40-50 minutes) and then a regular train or intercity high-speed service to Tai’an/Xintai (see train card). A taxi or Didi from TNA to Xintai/Tai’an typically takes about 60-90 minutes and costs roughly ¥150-300 depending on traffic.

Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO): Qingdao is another option, useful if you find better flight connections. A direct taxi/Didi to Xintai will take roughly 2-3 hours and usually costs ¥300-500. Alternatively, take the airport shuttle or metro into Qingdao, then an intercity train from Qingdao to Tai’an or Jinan and transfer onward by regional train or bus (total travel time commonly 2.5-4 hours depending on connections).

By Train & Bus

Train: The regional rail network is the most practical way to reach Xintai. Xintai has a local railway station (Xintai/新泰站) served by conventional and some faster regional services; nearby Tai’an Railway Station (泰安站) is a major hub on Shandong’s intercity network and has frequent connections to Jinan and Qingdao. Typical intercity fares are low (conventional regional trains often ¥5-30; high-speed/CRH between major cities ¥20-70) and travel times from Jinan to Tai’an are short (under 1 hour on high-speed services).

Bus: Regular long-distance buses run between Jinan, Tai’an and Xintai from the main coach stations; journey times vary (Jinan-Xintai around 60-90 minutes) and fares are usually in the ¥15-40 range. Local buses and intercity minibuses connect Xintai proper with nearby towns and Tai’an; schedules are frequent during the day but slow in the evenings.

How to Get Around Xintai

Xintai is easiest to navigate by rail plus short taxi/Didi hops for first/last mile connections; intercity trains to Tai'an/Xintai are frequent and reliable. For local travel, a mix of local buses, shared bikes and walking works best - use taxis or Didi for convenience or late‑night moves.
