Whistler Blackcomb is a large mountain resort in British Columbia comprising two adjacent ski mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, connected by a gondola and supported by a pedestrian resort village. It is one of North America’s most extensive ski and outdoor recreation complexes.
Winter visitors use extensive lift networks and groomed runs for downhill skiing and snowboarding while summer visitors access alpine hiking, trail networks and mountain-biking terrain. The resort village provides lodging, dining and lift access to both mountains, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola links the two upper-mountain areas for scenic transfers.
Developed through mid-to-late 20th century resort growth, Whistler Blackcomb expanded infrastructure and services over decades and served as a major venue area during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The resort has continued to grow as a year-round destination.
