Why Visit West Island? #

On the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, West Island combines white-sand beaches, coral-fringed snorkeling and Cocos Malay culture in an intimate settlement setting. Walks through coconut groves reveal Malay-style homes and community life, while local plates-fish curries and coconut-based desserts-reflect island flavors. Birdwatching and reef snorkels show abundant marine life close to shore. This is for travelers who want relaxed island time, cultural encounters and easy access to largely untouched coral reefs.
