Wasauksing First Nation is an Ojibwe First Nation community based on Parry Island in Georgian Bay, Ontario, immediately adjacent to the town of Parry Sound.
The reserve contains residential areas, community facilities and shoreline used for fishing, boating and cultural activities. The community maintains local governance, cultural programs and land stewardship on island lands.
The people of Wasauksing have long inhabited and used the islands and shoreline of central Georgian Bay; the reserve today continues that tradition while operating band services and community institutions.
The First Nation occupies Parry Island in central Georgian Bay, directly across from Parry Sound on Ontario’s eastern Georgian Bay shoreline.
