Warbah Island is a small, uninhabited Kuwaiti island located in the northern reaches of the country’s maritime territory in the Persian Gulf. It lies off Kuwait’s northeastern coast and is one of several low-lying islands in the area.
The island is primarily a natural feature rather than a developed destination and has no permanent civilian settlements or tourist infrastructure. Access is generally by boat from the Kuwaiti mainland and there are no regular ferry services.
Warbah Island is positioned close to the maritime boundary with neighbouring countries and sits amid shallow coastal waters and other small islands to the north of Kuwait’s main coastline.
Geographically it lies in the Jahra Governorate sector of Kuwait’s territorial waters, off the country’s northern coast.
How to Get to Warbah Island #
Warbah Island (Qaruh/Warbah) lies off Kuwait’s northern coast in the Persian Gulf and is not served by regular public transport. It is reached only by private boat from the Kuwaiti mainland; there are no passenger ferries.
The island is roughly 70 km (by straight-line distance) north of Kuwait City. Visit preparations should include arranging private maritime transport from the nearest Kuwaiti ports and checking any access restrictions with Kuwaiti authorities.
