How to Get to Wangaratta#
Wangaratta is best reached by V/Line regional train from Melbourne or by car. Local buses and taxis cover town travel, but trains give the most reliable intercity link for day trips to Melbourne or Albury.
Albury Airport (ABX): One of the closer regional airports; from Albury you can drive to Wangaratta in roughly 1-1.5 hours depending on route. Car hire is the practical option for onward travel.
Melbourne Airport (MEL): For more international options, fly into Melbourne then travel by train or car. The rail journey from Melbourne Southern Cross to Wangaratta (V/Line) takes about 2.5-3 hours with comfortable regional services.
