Waerebo

Wae Rebo (also spelled Waerebo) is a traditional Manggarai mountain village on Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, noted for its conical thatched houses. The village sits in a remote upland community and is an example of preserved vernacular architecture.

The village is an ancestral Manggarai settlement whose form and community organization reflect generations of local tradition; the houses and communal life are maintained by village families.
