How to Get to Vøringsfossen #

Vøringsfossen is located in the Måbødalen valley off Norwegian National Road 7 (Rv7) in the Hardanger/Eidfjord area. By car follow Rv7 (the Hardangervidda route) and follow signs for Vøringsfossen - there is a designated parking area and the main viewpoints are reached by a short walk from the car park.

The waterfall is served by regional coach services to Eidfjord; from Eidfjord a short taxi or local bus ride will bring you to the Vøringsfossen parking and viewpoints.

Tips for Visiting Vøringsfossen #

  • Aim to visit Vøringsfossen early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the mid-day coach crowds that fill the main viewing platforms, and to get better light for photography of the gorge.
