Volovec (Polish: Wołowiec) is a mountain peak in the Western Tatras on the Poland-Slovakia border, reaching about 2,064 meters in elevation.
Part of the main ridge of the Western Tatras, the summit is crossed by marked hiking routes and offers broad alpine views of neighboring peaks and valleys; it is commonly included on multi-peak ridge walks. Trails from both countries lead to the summit across exposed but non-technical terrain, making it a popular objective for day hikers in summer.
The peak is a natural feature formed by the Carpathian orogenic processes that created the Tatra range; it has long been part of local mountain routes used by shepherds and, more recently, recreational hikers. There is no constructed history associated with the summit.
The mountain sits on the watershed between Poland and Slovakia within the Western Tatras, on the main ridge shared by the two countries.
- Elevation: The summit reaches 2,064 meters above sea level and is one of the accessible high points of the Western Tatras.
- Access: Marked mountain trails cross the summit ridge and the peak is typically climbed in summer months from both Polish and Slovak approaches.
