Veterans Stadium, commonly called the Vet, was a multiuse stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that served as the city’s primary professional sports venue from 1971 until its closure in 2003. It hosted both Major League Baseball and National Football League teams.
Constructed and opened in 1971, Veterans Stadium replaced earlier local facilities and functioned as the shared home of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. The stadium closed after the 2003 season and was demolished in 2004 as both teams moved to new, sport-specific venues.
The stadium was located in South Philadelphia near the sports complex area, close to the intersection of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue, within the urban grid of the city.
