The Vasco da Gama Tower is a riverside observation tower in Lisbon’s Parque das Nações district, erected as part of the redevelopment for Expo ‘98. It functions as a vantage point above the Tagus River and the surrounding modern waterfront area.
Visitors use the tower’s observation facilities to view the Tagus estuary, the Parque das Nações promenade and the Vasco da Gama Bridge. The immediate area includes restaurants, promenades and the adjacent hotel complex that occupies part of the tower site.
The tower was built as a feature of the Expo ‘98 redevelopment and has since been integrated into the Parque das Nações urban landscape as a public viewpoint and hospitality site.
It stands on the north bank of the Tagus River within the Parque das Nações neighborhood in eastern Lisbon.

By car the Parque das Nações is east of central Lisbon (roughly 6-8 km) accessible via Avenida D. João II; there is on-site parking and good pedestrian routes from Oriente train and bus interchange.
