Vank Cathedral is an Armenian Apostolic church in the New Julfa (Jolfa) quarter of Isfahan, Iran, built by the Armenian community in the 17th century. The building combines Armenian ecclesiastical forms with Iranian decorative and architectural features.
Notable elements include richly painted interior frescoes, a vaulted dome and a bell tower, and the compound contains a museum and a library that preserve Armenian liturgical books and manuscripts. The cathedral served liturgical and community functions for the Armenian population of New Julfa.
The church dates to the period after Shah Abbas I relocated Armenian merchants and craftsmen to Isfahan in the early 17th century; the New Julfa quarter developed as a distinct Armenian neighbourhood with its own churches and institutions.
