Valley East is a community in the eastern part of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, and was an independent town prior to municipal amalgamation in 2001.
Primarily a residential and service-oriented area with local parks, community centres, and recreational facilities that serve surrounding neighbourhoods. The area functions as part of Greater Sudbury’s suburban and commuter landscape.
Valley East existed as an independent municipality before it became one of the constituent communities of the expanded City of Greater Sudbury in the 2001 municipal amalgamation.
Located on the eastern side of the Greater Sudbury urban area in northeastern Ontario, it forms part of the city’s suburban spread rather than a separate urban centre.
