The most practical approach is to drive from Ismayilli (roughly 30-60 minutes depending on exact trailhead) on local roads; the last kilometres may be unpaved and require a high-clearance vehicle. Local minibuses (marshrutkas) run from Ismayilli to nearby villages - from there hire a taxi or walk along marked shepherd trails.

- Drive from Ismayilli town: the final stretch is a rough mountain road; a high-clearance vehicle is recommended.
- Visit in late spring (May-June) when pastures are green and wildflowers bloom; avoid midwinter unless prepared for snow and closed roads.
- Ask local shepherds about seasonal grazing routes - they still use the slopes and will point out old shepherd huts and worn stone steps.
