Uturuncu
Mountain Bolivian stratovolcano notable for geothermal unrest studies
High-altitude volcano in southwestern Bolivia’s Potosí region; visited by trekkers and scientists for its c. 6,000‑metre summit, puna landscapes, nearby salt flats and evidence of ongoing geothermal uplift.
Uturuncu is a high-altitude volcanic massif in southwestern Bolivia rising to about 6,008 metres above sea level. It forms part of the Central Volcanic Zone of the Andes and stands on the Altiplano.
