U.S. Bank Tower (Los Angeles) is a landmark high-rise in Downtown Los Angeles rising to about 310 metres with 73 floors; it opened in 1989. It was known for decades as the tallest building in the city and one of the tallest in the western United States.
The building is primarily commercial office space and is a prominent feature of the Los Angeles skyline, especially when viewed from the west and along the downtown grid. Its upper floors are distinctive on panoramic skyline views and from nearby hilltop vantage points.
Designed by the firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the tower was completed at the end of the 1980s construction boom in downtown Los Angeles and has since been an anchor of the financial district skyline. Its address places it within the central core of downtown LA, near other major office towers and cultural venues.
The tower stands in downtown Los Angeles a short walk from Pershing Square and is well connected by regional roads and metro links, making it accessible from other parts of the city and from Los Angeles International Airport by road.
