How to Get to Umag

Umag is easiest reached by road from nearby airports (Pula, Trieste, Rijeka) or by regional bus services. There is no direct train line into Umag, so buses or car/taxi are the normal last‑mile options.

By Air

Pula Airport (PUY): The nearest airport with regular scheduled flights. By road Pula to Umag is about 50-75 minutes; bus connections are available and journey times are typically around 1-1.5 hours. Bus fares are commonly in the €6-12 range; taxis cost more.

Trieste - Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport (TRS) / Rijeka Airport (RJK): Both are alternative options with longer drives (~1-1.5 hours) and shuttle/bus links into Istria; travel times vary by season.

By Train & Bus

Train: Umag has no direct rail station; the nearest railheads are in Kanfanar or Pula. From those stations take a bus or taxi to Umag (bus connections are coordinated with train arrivals).

Bus: Regular regional buses and FlixBus services connect Umag with Pula, Rijeka, Trieste and other Istrian towns. Travel times typically 45-90 minutes depending on origin; fares commonly €3-15.
