Ulaanbaatar Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN): Uliastai is a remote provincial capital; most international travellers fly into Ulaanbaatar and then take a domestic flight, bus or private transfer. There are occasional domestic flights to Uliastai airport (ULZ) from Ulaanbaatar; flight times are roughly 1-1.5 hours and prices vary seasonally (expect several hundred thousand MNT for a one-way ticket).

Other regional airfields: Domestic schedules to Uliastai can be irregular and seasonal; if flights are not available you must complete the trip by road (see below) from Ulaanbaatar, which takes 10-14 hours by long-distance bus or private vehicle depending on route and road conditions.

By Train & Bus
