Ulaangom (Uvs Province) is normally reached by domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar; long road journeys are possible but lengthy. Local taxis and shared vehicles handle transfers between the small airport and the town.

By Air

Ulaangom Airport (ULO): Ulaangom is served by scheduled domestic flights from Ulaanbaatar and occasionally other regional centres. Flights are the quickest way in; on arrival a taxi or local vehicle will take you into town in around 10-20 minutes for a modest fare (typically a few thousand MNT).

Ulaanbaatar (ULN): International visitors normally connect through Ulaanbaatar and take a domestic flight onward to Ulaangom. Domestic flight schedules can be limited and are sometimes seasonal-book ahead.

By Train & Bus

Train: Mongolia’s main passenger rail network does not serve Ulaangom directly; rail is not a realistic arrival option for this western provincial centre.

Bus / Road: There are long overland routes by bus or private vehicle from Ulaanbaatar and regional hubs, but these are long multi-day journeys over variable roads. For most visitors domestic flights are the practical choice.

How to Get Around Ulaangom #
