The building presents a spacious courtyard and a prayer hall beneath a prominent central dome, with one minaret carrying three balconies that distinguish its silhouette from other Ottoman mosques. The interior and exterior display Ottoman stonework and design elements of the 15th-century period.
Constructed in the mid 15th century under the patronage of Sultan Murad II, the mosque represents an important phase in early Ottoman mosque architecture and influenced later imperial designs.
