Ubajara National Park

Ubajara National Park is a compact protected area in the state of Ceará, Brazil, noted for its karst landscape and a prominent show cave. The park protects Atlantic forest remnant and rocky canyons within a small mountainous area.

The cave is the principal visitor highlight, accessed from the park entrance by a short cable car and then by foot along an established path to caverns with speleothems. There are also short trails, lookouts over the surrounding canyons and remnants of native forest that attract day visitors and local ecotourism.

The park was created to protect the cave and surrounding forested canyon landscape and to provide controlled public access to geological and scenic features. Management focuses on visitor facilities, trail maintenance and preservation of the cave environment.

Ubajara National Park lies in north-eastern Brazil in the state of Ceará within a hilly, canyon-dominated landscape; the park is accessed from the town of Ubajara and serves as a local nature and tourism destination.
