How to Get to Tykocin#
Tykocin is a small historic town west of Białystok - reach it via Białystok by bus or taxi after arriving in northeastern Poland by train or via Warsaw. The Białystok→Tykocin bus is the standard public connection.
Białystok / Regional airports: Białystok currently has limited commercial services; most travellers fly into Warsaw Chopin (WAW) or Warsaw Modlin (WMI) and continue by land. From Warsaw the road/train journey to Białystok is about 2.5-3 hours.
Warsaw Chopin (WAW): Warsaw is the main international gateway. From WAW take a train or bus to Warsaw Central and then an intercity or regional train to Białystok (2.5-3 hours); from Białystok take a local bus or taxi to Tykocin (about 30-45 minutes).
Train: PKP Intercity and regional (Polregio) trains run Warsaw ↔ Białystok (2.5-3 hours). Białystok railway station is the closest major rail hub for Tykocin.
Bus: Regular regional buses run from Białystok bus station to Tykocin (typically 30-45 minutes). Local fares are modest - buses are the most direct public option for reaching Tykocin from Białystok.
How to Get Around Tykocin#
Tykocin is normally combined with a trip to Białystok: arrive at Białystok by train or bus, then take a regional bus or short taxi ride to Tykocin. For full flexibility rent a car, otherwise buses serve the town well.
