The mountain is approached by several marked walking routes that cross mixed montane forests and open ridges; the summit is a natural focal point for day hikes and multi-day treks in the Gorce range. The site is used recreationally for hiking, nature observation and seasonal outdoor activities.
Historically the area has been used for mountain pastures and later developed for outdoor recreation; trails and mountain huts were established in the 20th century to support visitors. The summit’s prominence made it a traditional local landmark and a waypoint in regional trail networks.
Turbacz sits in the Gorce Mountains of Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within driving distance of towns such as Rabka-Zdrój and Nowy Targ, and is roughly 70-100 kilometres south of Kraków depending on route.
