Tswalu Kalahari Reserve

Tswalu Kalahari Reserve is a private game reserve in South Africa’s Northern Cape province that protects a large area of southern Kalahari habitat and riverine valleys. It is one of the country’s largest privately owned reserves and operates conservation programs alongside luxury visitor accommodation.

The landscape comprises red Kalahari dunes, grasslands and sparse tree cover that support adapted large mammals and birdlife; visitor activities center on guided drives, walking safaris and photographic fieldwork run from the reserve’s camps. The reserve is noted for targeted conservation initiatives, including work to protect threatened species such as black rhino.
