Tropical Islands is an indoor tropical resort and waterpark located in a converted airship hangar near Krausnick in Brandenburg, Germany; it opened as a leisure complex in the mid-2000s. The site recreates tropical environments under a vast enclosed hall with climate control, beaches, pools and themed areas.
Facilities inside the hangar include a large tropical sea and lagoon, indoor rainforest planting, water slides and a spa/sauna area, with both day-visitor and overnight accommodation options. The complex operates year-round and provides weather-independent tropical recreation.
The resort sits in the rural area south of Berlin near the village of Krausnick, roughly an hour’s drive from central Berlin depending on traffic and accessible by road.
