The Torre Monumental is a freestanding clock tower in the Retiro neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, erected as a gift from the British community and historically known as the Torre de los Ingleses. It is a landmark clock tower located in a plaza close to the Retiro transport hub.
The tower was completed and inaugurated in the early 20th century as a commemorative monument; it features clock faces and a bell system typical of civic clock towers. The monument’s name was officially changed following political tensions in the 1980s.

How to Get to Torre Monumental #
Public transit: Torre Monumental (formerly Torre de los Ingleses) stands beside Plaza Fuerza Aérea Argentina in the Retiro district, immediately adjacent to Retiro railway and bus terminals. Take the Buenos Aires Subte Line C to Retiro or any commuter rail that stops at Retiro (Mitre/San Martín/Belgrano lines); the tower is a 2-5 minute walk from the station, on Avenida del Libertador near Plaza San Martín. By car you can approach via Avenida del Libertador or Calle Florida; parking and traffic are limited in central Buenos Aires.
