The Tomb of Safdar Jang is an 18th-century Mughal-period mausoleum in Delhi, built as the funerary monument for Safdar Jang, a powerful noble of the late Mughal court.

Erected in the mid-1700s, the tomb represents one of the later examples of Mughal funerary architecture in northern India and reflects regional adaptations of the charbagh garden plan and late Mughal ornament.

The tomb stands in south-central Delhi within the National Capital Territory, accessible from major city roads and public transport corridors.

• Central mausoleum: Central mausoleum building set within a formal charbagh-style garden, featuring a large central dome and high plinth typical of late Mughal funerary architecture.
• Gateway and pavilions: Main entrance gate and flanking pavilions with decorative sandstone and marble inlay motifs added during the 18th century construction.

The Tomb of Safdar Jang is on Safdarjung Road in South Delhi near the Safdarjung Enclave/Aurobindo Marg area. From the Delhi Metro, the nearest station is Jor Bagh on the Yellow Line - expect about a 1 km / 10-15 minute walk or a short auto/taxi ride from the station. The site is also served by multiple Delhi Transport Corporation buses that run along Safdarjung Road; taxis and app-based cars can reach it directly via Aurobindo Marg/Safdarjung Road.

• Enter via the main gate on Safdarjung Road where security and ticketing are concentrated; arriving just after opening reduces queueing and local school-group crowds.
• Visit early morning or late afternoon for the best light on the monument and far fewer visitors than mid-day when tour groups and buses arrive.
• Many visitors pass by without noticing the finer Mughal-era garden layout and carved stone details around the central tomb - take time to walk the full garden quadrants and inspect the plinths and inlaid ornamentation.
