Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens is a historic amusement park and pleasure garden in central Copenhagen, Denmark, opened in 1843 by Georg Carstensen and popular for its mix of rides, live entertainment and historic architecture. It is one of the world’s oldest still-operating amusement parks and remains a major cultural venue in Copenhagen.

A mix of modern and historic rides, concert and performance programmes, ornate pavilions and flowered walkways, plus seasonal events at Halloween and Christmas. The park contains long-running attractions such as the 1914 wooden coaster Rutschebanen, the Pantomime Theatre and the Nimb buildings beside the central lake. Concerts and fireworks are scheduled regularly during the summer season.

Tivoli sits immediately behind Copenhagen Central Station in the city centre, making it an easy pedestrian visit from the main transit hubs and surrounding shopping districts.
