How to Get to Timmins
Timmins is best reached by air via Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (YTS) for regional connections; there is no passenger rail service. Intercity coaches and driving are the main overland options for reaching the city from southern Ontario or neighbouring regions.
Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (YTS): The town’s airport is the main way most visitors arrive by air, with regional flights. From YTS to downtown Timmins taxis take about 10-15 minutes; expect fares roughly CAD 20-30. Rental cars are available at the airport for greater flexibility.
Toronto Pearson Intl (YYZ) / Other major hubs: International visitors commonly connect via Toronto (YYZ) or other larger Canadian airports; from Toronto you can fly into Timmins (seasonal) or travel overland by coach or car (several hours).
Train: Timmins has no regular intercity passenger rail service. The nearest passenger rail is in towns farther south; rail is not a practical way to reach Timmins.
Bus / Coach: Ontario Northland and private coach operators offer intercity bus services connecting Timmins to towns such as North Bay and Sudbury and onward to southern Ontario.
