Tikei is a small, low coral atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago of French Polynesia (Îles Tuamotu-Gambier). It is remote and uninhabited, characterised by a ring-shaped reef and a shallow lagoon.
The atoll has no regular infrastructure or settlements and is rarely visited except by cruising yachts and occasional maritime expeditions. Natural features include the reef rim and lagoon typical of Tuamotu atolls.
Tikei lies in the central South Pacific as part of French Polynesia’s Tuamotu group; its nearest inhabited islands are many dozens to hundreds of kilometres away, making it a remote feature of the archipelago.
