Tignes - Val d’Isère is a combined high-mountain ski destination in the French Alps, Savoie region, comprising two resorts that operate together as a single ski domain.

Extensive alpine terrain accessed by interconnected lifts and pistes, with village bases offering accommodation, ski schools, equipment hire and après-ski facilities. High-altitude slopes and glacier areas provide snow cover across much of the conventional ski season.

Originally separate alpine settlements and ski resorts, Tignes and Val d’Isère developed through 20th-century tourism growth and were progressively linked by lift infrastructure to create the integrated ski domain known today.

Located in the Tarentaise Valley area of Savoie in the French Alps, the resorts sit on either side of a high mountain basin and are accessible by road from nearby alpine towns and regional transport hubs.

How to Get to Tignes – Val d'Isère #

Tignes and Val d’Isère are reached by road from Grenoble, Chambéry or Lyon airports - shuttle services operate in winter. From Bourg-Saint-Maurice there are frequent bus links to both villages and local lifts connect the ski domain.
