Tepe Hissar is an archaeological tell near Damghan in Iran’s Semnan province, with occupation levels spanning the Chalcolithic into the Bronze Age.
The mound contains stratified cultural layers and has produced extensive ceramic assemblages, architectural remains and metal artifacts typical of early settled communities in the region. Surface remains and museum collections convey a long sequence of habitation and craft production.
Occupied from roughly the 5th millennium BCE through the 2nd millennium BCE, the site shows development from early village settlement to larger Bronze Age occupations with evidence for metallurgy and long-distance exchange. Archaeological work in the 20th century documented the sequence and recovered artifacts now studied in regional collections.
