Tell Qaramel Archaeological Site

Tell Qaramel is a Pre-Pottery Neolithic archaeological mound in Aleppo Governorate in northern Syria notable for very early stone architecture and monumental features dated to the 10th millennium BCE.

Excavations exposed circular stone-built structures and several substantial tower-like constructions that predate many later fortified or monumental forms in the region; these features are cited in discussions of the origins of communal architecture and sedentism.
