Tatranská Lomnica is a village and mountain resort in the High Tatras in northern Slovakia, part of the municipality of Vysoké Tatry. It is one of Slovakia’s principal ski and mountain-tourism centres.
The resort area includes ski slopes, lift and cable-car infrastructure and summer hiking routes. A prominent visitor attraction is the cable car that provides access toward Lomnický štít, one of the High Tatras’ highest peaks at 2,634 metres, offering high-altitude views and mountain services.
The settlement developed as a mountain resort in the late 19th and 20th centuries and expanded with tourist infrastructure for skiing, climbing and alpine recreation. Facilities include hotels, mountain guides and trailheads for walking and mountaineering.
Tatranská Lomnica sits on the eastern side of the High Tatras range in northern Slovakia, within a short drive of other Tatras resorts and the regional service centre of Poprad.
